TURNER; Chicago. IL,USA; 1850-1875 I am looking for JOHN TURNER who left England circa 1850 and started up as a Timber Merchant in Chicago I believe. It could be that his business was on the Stock Market but that is old family talk. He was also supposed to be fairly wealthy. He died circa 1875 just before he was to return to England. He was born in Rochdale,Lancashire circa 1816. He married and had two children. When his wife died youngish he left his two children to go to America. I have put this request on the internet before with some limited success and suggestions and an address to write to, this letter with IRCs was either lost or ignored. Has anyone any bright ideas on how I should carry on with this enquiry. JOHN TURNER was my neighbour's great grandfather.
