LEWIS Zachariah; NC,USA; c 1772-1803 I am looking for information on Zachariah LEWIS who was born around 1772, possibly in Orange County, NC. He married Rachel BRACKEN there in 1796. He died around 1803. "Pioneer Lewis Families in America, vol. 5" says that the family folklore was that Zachariah was of Irish origin, and may have been born in Ireland himself. Possibly he was related to a George LEWIS. His wife's family was associated with the Old Swedes Church in Wilmington, DE, and I have not ruled out a relationship to the LEWIS families shown on that church's records. Some say his family might have been from VA, but no documentation so far suggests this.
