TOMASCHEWSKI, Otto; PRU,DEU>IL,USA; 1888-1961 I am looking for any info on my grandfather Otto Adolph Tomaschewski--- born in Sonnenborn, Germany-Prussia in 1888. Married Auguste Pettkus in 1912, had a son named Helmut in Nov. 1912, in Kiel, Germany. Emigrated from Antwerp in 1913 to Canada with family, then traveled to Detroit. From there went to Decatur, IL. He stayed there about a year, and went to St. Paul and enlisted in the army. Served in the army as a guard at Alcatraz. Later went to work as a gardener, in the Golden Gate Parks at San Fran. Had another son in 1921, Robert. Was naturalized and had surname changed to THOMAS, from serving in the military. Died in Placerville, CA, in 1961. [email protected]
