O'SHAUGHNESSY / PONSABY; Gilman, IL,USA; 1888 My grandmother, MARY ANNE O'SHAUGHNESSY immigrated from Derrybeg, Ireland to Gilman, Illinois in 1888. She stayed with her mother's married sister, Margaret ENNIS. When Margaret died in 1907, her obituary referred to her maiden name as PONSABY. We cannot understand why her maiden name wasn't the same as her sister, O'SHAUGHNESSY. Does anyone have any additional information that would help us solve this mystery?
