NELLIGAN; IRL>NY,USA; c. 1854 I recently received information that my GGGPs surname 'could' have been NELLIGAN, vice the surname MULLIGAN that I have been unsuccessfully chasing. If so, Luke NELLIGAN and wife Catherine 'Kate' EGGERTY, emigrated from Ireland to NY ca 1854 with at least one daughter, Catherine NELLIGAN, my GGM, who was born in Ireland 5/2/1848 (or possibly 1843). I would appreciate any information on this family. I would also be interested in learning what Irish counties these surnames are associated with. Of course, Eggerty could be Heggerty, Hagerty, etc. If by chance there are one or two counties where both surnames predominate, perhaps that could be the clue to get me moving from this current dead end.
