ORDEMAN; Bremen, DEU>MD,USA>Philadelphia,PA,USA; 1500-1900 I am researching the ORDEMAN family in Bremen, Germany. More recently, I am researching the family of John H. ORDEMAN. He was born March, 1840 in Maryland. He married Elizabeth C.F. FISHER in Philadelphia, PA around 1865. Their children included Mary Emma, Katherine, Thomas D. and Henry C. In 1870 he listed his occupation as machinist, in 1880 as R.R. engineer, and in 1900 as capitalist. He died in Philadelphia in 1904. If you have any information, please send e-mail to BarbPretz@aol.com. Thanks for your help! Barb

Joseph's line then goes to Josiah (1692-1775), then to Samuel (1722-1789), then to Priscilla GORHAM (1749-1816) who married Joshua TAYLOR. PURCELL; IN,USA>IL,USA>WI,USA; 1790-1883 I'm researching the family of James Jefferson PURCELL. He was born in Indiana on 4 July 1812. He was apparently the son of James Purcell (born 26 Nov 1791) and Catherine (born 1 Jan 1793). James Jefferson Purcell married Elizabeth Shepherd (daughter of Reuben Shepherd) and they had several children born in Sullivan County, Indiana including Nancy Catherine born ca. 1836, Samuel born ca. 1837, Luisa born 27 March 1840, Sarah Jane born ca. 1842, Mary Anna born 25 April 1844, Armilda born 19 September1846, Martha born 19 December 1848, Caroline born 26 September 1851, and Margaret born 2 January 1854. The family later moved to Crawford County, IL where James Jefferson died on 5 Aug 1874. I have reason to believe my James Jefferson PURCELL may be related to the Edward PURCELL who was born in Ireland in 1731 and immigrated to the US around 1750. He married Ann HAMPTON and had three sons: Jonathan, Edward and William who all moved to IN. I am still trying to substantiate this connection.
