    1. OLIGNY; CAN>WI,USA; 1832-
    2. Tanya Hein
    3. OLIGNY; CAN>WI,USA; 1832- I am trying to trace the OLIGNY name in Canada. My g-g-g grandfather was Noah OLIGNEY (OLIGNY). Based on a newspaper article from the 1920's, I know he was born in 1832 in St. Remi. (I believe this is in Napierville Cty near Montreal.) In 1852, Noah married the next door neighbor girl who was also born in 1832. They raised 12 children in a farm community called St. Louis. (I believe this is in Beauharnois County near Montreal.) The 12 children who were all born in Canada were: Albert (my g-g grandfather b. Dec. 12 /25 1857) , Alphonse (b. 1862), Azilda (b. 1868; married Alexander Girouard from Canada) , Florence, Louis, Nelson, Olide / Odile, Wilfred, and 4 unknowns. (The marriage records of Albert and his siblings list various birth places as St. Louis, Montreal, and Lower Canada). According to my g-g grandfather's obituary, the family moved from Lower Canada to the Black River Falls area of Wisconsin when he was 16, which would have been around 1874. >From the Wisconsin marrgiage records of Albert and his siblings, I know that Noah's wife's name was Marguerite / Margaret (anglicized). It is unclear what her last name was. It was spelled EMO, RAMIO, and RAYMOND, probably due to the strong French accent. I think it might have been RAYMOND as I once looked at a book of marriages for Napierville County in Canada and saw numerous OLIGNY and RAYMOND. Unfortuantely Noah and Marguerite were not in that book. I would appreciate any assistance or suggestions that would help me in my search to find Noah's birth or marriage record so I can find out who his parents were, or the birth records of his children. Thank you. Sincerely, Tanya Hein Madison, Wisconsin trhein@students.wisc.edu

    3. TURNER; Chicago. IL,USA; 1850-1875 I am looking for JOHN TURNER who left England circa 1850 and started up as a Timber Merchant in Chicago I believe. It could be that his business was on the Stock Market but that is old family talk. He was also supposed to be fairly wealthy. He died circa 1875 just before he was to return to England. He was born in Rochdale,Lancashire circa 1816. He married and had two children. When his wife died youngish he left his two children to go to America. I have put this request on the internet before with some limited success and suggestions and an address to write to, this letter with IRCs was either lost or ignored. Has anyone any bright ideas on how I should carry on with this enquiry. JOHN TURNER was my neighbour's great grandfather. All replies answered. -- Bert Parsons (County of Sussex UK) -- Bert Parsons Bert Parsons <bert@somme.demon.co.uk>

    3. BALDWIN; CT,USA>NY,USA; 1790 Seeking information on BALDWINs who relocated on Revolutionary Bounty Land Warrants to the Chemung Co., NY area from Norwich, CT. This included a father and his 7 sons. Names, etc.: - Isaac Baldwin (1730-?) father of - Rufus (either did not survive the Revolution or did not move with the others), Thomas, Waterman, Isaac Jr., William, and (probably) Silas and Ichabod Baldwin. I need to make the connection between one of these sons and - Thomas Baldwin (b. about 1792), father of - Ephraim Warner Baldwin (2/16/1826-9/27/1890), Esther, Alfred, and Alvira Baldwin. Ephraim was the father of - George E. Baldwin (6/1867-11/19/1937), Sarah M., Jefferson L, Eliza, Esther, Ruth, and Eva D. Baldwin. George was the father of - Clifford Waldo Baldwin (July 1890- about 1962), Clara, Kate, Sarah "Sally," and Merle W. Baldwin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Joyce joycelr@aol.com (Joycelr)
