    3. Re: THOMPSON John; IRL>PA,USA; 1818-1885 I, too, have a great grandparent John Thompson who was in Philadelphia in the mid-1800s married to a Rebecca Wilson. I have information that they both were from Ireland and planned to begin a search in Philadelphia this spring, knowing both names are "a dime a dozen." I am discouraged by the lack of support you received, but am determined to continue. Carole Sherr Lancaster, PA carsherr@aol.com (CarSherr)

    3. MICHEL, Charlotta Friederike Wilhelmina; DEU > CT,USA > MI,USA; b. 1827 I'm searching for any info regarding my gg grandmother Charlotta Friedrike Wilhelmina MICHEL b. abt. 10 January 1827. Charlotta married Ludwig (Louis) MENZER in Bridgeport, Fairfield County, CT on June 30, 1850. Her marriage registration shows that she is from Lich, Hessen, Germany. I wrote to the Evang. Luth. Church in Lich and was told that the photocopy of her confirmation certificate that I had (dated 31 May 1841) actually showed that she was from Kirchheim-Kurhessen. I wrote to Kirchheim-Kurhessen and was told she was not from there, but might be from Kirchhain-Kurhessen near Marburg which is often mistaken for Kirchheim. I'm in the process of writing again, but thought I'd send this out for help in the mean time. If anyone out their has a MICHEL from Lich or Kirchheim or Kirchhain who may have emigrated to the US before 1850 or knows of a Charlotta MICHEL I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. I have a fair bit of info and mementos on this relation, but can't seem to go back into Germany with her. Many thanks.
