They had several children, and I believe at least one of them may have moved to the Duluth, MN area. Somewhere along the line, the spelling was changed to KEOPKE. He married Ella Ivy (HARVEY) THOMSON 20 November 1907 Rockville IN USA. He died 15 March 1979 and is buried Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana, USA. His father Milton S. COWGER was born 09 March 1844, Rush County, Indiana, USA. He married Leonora STEBBINS. He died 06 July 1914. His father Jonathan COWGER was born 04 November 1807, Highland County OH USA. He married Sarah BIRT, daughter of William BIRT, 28 December 1830 Rush County, Indiana, USA. They had 14 children. He died 13 June 1890, Jasper County Illinois, USA. His father Michael COWGER was born 10 May 1765. He married Catherins EYE (OWIE) 18 March 1788 Augusta County, Virgina, USA and they lived in what is now Pendleton County, Ohio and Rush County, Indiana. He died about 1843, Rush County, Indiana, USA. It is thought that Michael COWGER might be a son of Michael COUGER who was Court Justice in Rockingham County, VA, USA, but there is no proof of this. It is known the he purchased land at Pendleton County, W. Virginia in 1789 which he sold in 1794. He paid taxes in Harrison County, Kentucky in 1800, and in 1806 and 1807 he puchased and sold land in Harrison County. Michael Cowger and his family next appear in Highland County, Ohio, USA, where he is listed in an 1807 local census. It is thought that the earlier COWGERs are German and the German name is GAUGER. My grandfather Rolla Elbert COWGER thought there might be a connection with any of three men named GAUGER who came to the USA from Germany: GAUGER Johann Georg arriving 11 September 1732 GAUGER Johann Conrad, Age 22, arriving 16 November 1736, and GAUGER Georg Nicholass, Age 18, also arriving 16 November 1736. 2. Dan Connors
    3. CONNORS, Martin; IRL > MI,USA; 1850-1900 Martin Connors was probably born between 1850 and 1860 in Ireland (source: US census shows children and father's birthplace as Ireland). He married Minnie Gusenbauer, b. 1852 in Michigan and had these children: Cecilia W. Connors, b abt 1882, Peter John Connors, b. Sep 7, 1884, Margaret Connors b. Sep 1886, Thomas Connors, b. abt 1890, and Martin Connors, b. abt 1891. All these kids were born in Michigan, presumably in the area about Hudson, Michigan. Minnie appears in the 1900 and 1910 censuses (censi?) as a widow. My father said Martin was the town drunk, which would explain his early death, although Minnie did report they were married 19 years. I believe Martin entered through Hudson Bay. [email protected]

    3. MERCER; FL,USA; 1840-1998 I'm researching the Mercers of Florida. They've been in Florida since abt. 1830/1840. I have a web site called "The Lindsays of Florida" but it's mostly on the Mercers. My grandmother was Annie Mae Mercer. She married Jessie James Lindsay in Hardee Co., FL. She was the daughter of Alec Mercer and Lizzie McInnis. Alec is the son of Charles Mercer and Mettie Zula Prine. Lizzie was the daughter of Alexander McInnis and Mattie Forrest. etc. etc. etc. I don't know where the Mercers came from for sure and would appreciate any help I can get. Please look at my web site for more details. While your there please take the time to sign my guestbook or leave a message on my message board. Tell me what you think. I have a bunch of surnames and if your family came to Florida around 1900 we could be a related. My URL address is: http://www.angelfire.com/fl/Starlabs Thanks in advance. Sincerly Matthew S. 3. LINDSAY; VA,USA>IL,USA> AR,USA>FL,USA; 1870-1998 Hello Rooters, I'm researching Richard Mack Lindsay, b. July 4, 1870, Richmond, VA. Richard had a brother William Lindsay who lived in Maysville, KY. and 2 sisters Annie Lindsay Simpson and Lily Lindsay Thuckles? both living in TX. Richard moved to Cairo, IL. where he met Sarah Ellen Lackey and mrried her. They had 3 children that I know of: Charles Walter Lindsay born in 1900, Cairo, IL., Helen Hazel Lindsay, born Feb. 9, 1908 in Cairo, IL. and Jessie James Lindsay born Feb. 22, 1914 in Little Rock, AR. Richard worked for the Illinois Central Railroad, where I believe he retired from. On Richard's death certificate it states his fathers name is Mack Lindsay and mother is unknown. I have all kinds of data on Richard's children and their descedents but nothing on Richard's parents or Richard's siblings. Can someone help? I have a web site Called "The Lindsays of Florida" which is a little ironic since the majority of data I have is on other surnames, not Lindsay. Lindsay is taking precedence over all other surnames for now since that is my own last name. Please help if you can. If you want stop by and take a look at my web site maybe you'll find we are cousins. If you do visit my Web Site please take the time to sign my guestbook or write a message on my message board thats appropriate for our research. I would love to share my research with someone else that's interested, just let me know. My URL address is : http://www.angelfire.com/fl/Starlabs Thanks in advance to all you Rooters.
