WOLFSHOHL, August; DEU>TX,USA; 1845 WOLFSHOHL, August Martin Gerhardt; DEU>TX,USA; 1845 I'm looking for any information on August or his wife Katherine EBERLING. Possibly were married in Dillenberg, Nassau, Germany between 1840-1843. They departed from Breman for Galveston, Texas aboard the Johanne Dethardt during the early fall of 1845. I would appreciate any information regarding either August or Katherine before they departed for the USA. In short, I'm trying to obtain background on them (parents, occupation, etc) while they were still in Germany. Any help would be appreciated. -- Bill [email protected]

NELLIGAN; IRL>NY,USA; c. 1854 I recently received information that my GGGPs surname 'could' have been NELLIGAN, vice the surname MULLIGAN that I have been unsuccessfully chasing. If so, Luke NELLIGAN and wife Catherine 'Kate' EGGERTY, emigrated from Ireland to NY ca 1854 with at least one daughter, Catherine NELLIGAN, my GGM, who was born in Ireland 5/2/1848 (or possibly 1843). I would appreciate any information on this family. I would also be interested in learning what Irish counties these surnames are associated with. Of course, Eggerty could be Heggerty, Hagerty, etc. If by chance there are one or two counties where both surnames predominate, perhaps that could be the clue to get me moving from this current dead end. Thanks, Joe Bissett Joe Bissett <[email protected]>

Re: WEBER, George; DEU > St. Louis, MO,USA; 1880 Georg Weber arrives in St. Louis, sometime around 1880. His occupation is as a blacksmith, and he appears to be working for a wagon maker. He was born in Germany in August of 1856/57. His Census records say he is from Bavaria, and indicates an arrival date of around 1880. He seems to have arrived single. First wife, Maria Kissenger in 1882; she died in childbirth in May of 1883. He married Maria Erbe in Nov of 1883 and they had seven more children. The naturalization papers in St. Louis have no street address, no identifying information (not even a reference number or petition!) He says he was naturalized in 1889. They just say George Weber with the standard "renounce the king" sort of statements...So..naturalization isn't going to be helpful here. Any ideas? Many thanks Barbara Haney Martinez <[email protected]>
Re: ERBE, Friedrick; St. Louis, MO,USA; 1886 Hello, Wie Gehts! I am looking for a Friedrick Erbe. Friedrick is listed as a sponsor on my great Uncle Otto's baptism. Uncle Otto's mom (and my great grandmother)'s name was Maria Weber geborn Erbe. The baptism was at St. Jacobi's Kirche (St. Jame's Evangelical Church) St. Louis, MO abt 1886. As Uncle Otto died in WW1, no issue, I can't exactly ask him about his baptism sponsor! According to what a cousin told me who remembers her grandmother, Maria Erbe was the only girl of 4 boys. This Friedrick was suppose to be one of the 4 brothers. She told me her grandmother called him "the lawyer." I assume this was English..but, hard to tell with this family, as little what they left is in English. I have a picture of her...she looks like a very pleasant woman. Anyway, any info on this Friedrick would be much appreciated. Barbara [email protected]
