TURNER James; VA,USA; c 1785 Trying again. The posting rules are fierce. We're seeking further information in our TURNER line. We are pretty sure that the James Turner whose will is dated July 8, 1785 in Halifax County, VA is the right James Turner, father of our ancestor Ransom Turner. The names of his children appear often further down the line. In addition to Ransom, his will lists children: Armistead, Bazel(Boswell?), Abner, Mastain(Martin?), Fanny, Susannah, Elizabeth. No wife is named, but he names his brother William, "loving friend" Moses Turner, and friend Thomas Stanfield as executors. Will is witnessed by Thomas Turner, William Holt, Barnet Turner, and James Turner (a different one?)
