KOEPKE,Carl; PA,USA; 1853-1888 Researching my gggrandfather Carl KOEPKE who emigrated to Ashland, PA in 1853. He and wife Fredericka HENDRICKS (HENDRES) were both from Prussia, but I don't know what town. I've been told that Fuhlendorf may be a possibility. I don't know if they were married before or after they arrived in the USA. They had several children, and I believe at least one of them may have relocated to the Duluth, MN area. Somewhere along the line, the spelling was changed to KEOPKE. John KOEPKE (KEOPKE) was born in 1858 in Ashland, but moved to Iowa and finally ended up near Joplin, Missouri. Herman KOEPKE - Born in Ashland, PA on 25 JUN 1860 August KOEPKE - born in Ashland, PA on 6 FEB 1862 Alvina KOEPKE - born in Ashland, PA on 25 JUN 1863 Emma KOEPKE - born in Ashland, PA on 18 APR 1865 - married (1) Frederick BROWN and (2) William TAUFMAN(N) Bertha KOEPKE - born in Ashland, PA on 21 FEB 1867 - married William SCHWARTZ Clara KOEPKE - born in Ashland, PA on 10 JUL 1868 - married Christian NEETZOW Three remaining children died at ages 2 months to 3 1/2 years. ROLT, George; IRL>RI,USA; 1905-1965 Hi I am seeking information regarding George (Henry, James) ROLT, born Belfast 1905 who moved to the USA dying there in 1965 (from the Social Security Death Index). I would ideally like information regarding George and his family ( I assume there to be one as the Social Securiy Pay out was requested) or general information regarding the data available from Social Security and/or from the death certificate. I ask this because this is my first entry into research in the US, so my knowledge of such issues is virtually zero. (My main area of research being in England). Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. LEHMKUHLER; PRU,DEU>IN,USA; 1842 My LIMECOOLY ancestors first appear in the Ft. Wayne, IN area c. 1850. Census records show that they were all from Prussia, and the surname was originally LEHMKUHLER, LEHMKULY, or similar variations along those lines. Probable ggg-grandfather was Frederick William LEHMKUHLE, b. 1792 in Prussia, arrived in NY 1842. Family tradition has it that the Limecooly's were from Dusseldorf. Does anyone know if a person from Dusseldorf would have considered themselves Prussian in the mid-1800s??? Thanks. Jon Strebler San Diego [email protected]

TROUTMAN; DEU>MD,USA/KY,USA; 1738-1814 John Michael Troutman b. 1738 somewhere in Germany. Name is also spelled as Johann Michael TRAUTMANN. Everything I've found says he was born in Germany, but where at? He married 1st ABT 1762 to Rebecca BEARD, then 2nd Jan. 1784 to Elizabeth SCHRADER/SCHROEDER. Children by his 1st wife were John, Catherine, Peter, John Michael Jr., Anna, Joseph, Leonard and Elizabeth "Betty". Children by his 2nd wife were Elizabeth, Abraham, Barbara, Isaac, Jacob, Rebecca, Mary Polly, Philip, Cathrina "Caty", and Margaret "Matilda". He was a large land owner in Bullitt County, KY and died in Shepherdsville, Bullitt Co., KY in 1814 between April 10th when his will was made out and June 7th when a suit was brought against his heirs, a land dispute. Need suggestions on how to figure out where he was born, also can't prove who his father was, though it's suspected of being a Johann Leonard Trautmann who arrived on the ship Neptune in 1752. BRIGHT Bunnie; Glendale CA,USA/KS,USA; 1900- I am researching the surname Bright. My grandfather lived in CA (Glendale area) when my father was born and put up for adoption. The name I've been given for my grandfather is Bunny Bright, I feel as though this is a nickname. He had two boys, one was Robert "Bobby" Bright and the other was adopted as Ralph Dean England. -- "Sandy E. Dickerson" <[email protected]>
