TEGARDINE Mark; Wisbech, ENG > USA; 1811-1896 Researching for BIRTHPLACE & PARENTS of my gggrandfather: TEGARDINE, Mark born 1811 in England - believe County of Cambridgeshire Married HALES, Jane (dau of Henry Hales) on 25 October 1836 in Parish of Wisbech St. Mary's, County of Cambridgeshire, England. Emigrated in 1843 with wife and 2 children son Jacob Edwin and dau Lydia for USA Died 9 May 1896 in East Rockport Twp, Cuyahoga County, Ohio where he and family lived since immigration in 1843. Additional PERTINENT info: Their first child was a son named James who died at ca 1 year. Their 10th child was a boy also named James died shortly after birth in 1852. Their 11th and last child was born in 1855 and was named James also. This last James (James Edward) lived far into maturity, dying 24 June 1932 in Chicago, IL. Re: GARDNER; Nantucket, MA,USA; 1658-1700 Richard is, I believe, son of Thomas Gardner of Cape Ann and Salem MA. I'm descended from two other of Thomas' children - Sarah Balch and Thomas. Thomas Gardner married 2nd the widow Damaris Shattuck. I'm also interested in Richard's descendants, because I suspect that my Albert Gardner who was b. abt. 1805 and was married in Vassalboro, Maine may descend from the Nantucket line of Gardners. I've not yet learned about Albert's parents, but know he had a sister named Ruth who was adopted by the Lane family, and probably had 5 or 6 other siblings. Albert moved to Cincinnati, OH and also lived in Lebanon, IN and Jeffersonville, IN. I have some family papers about Albert and his family - but they haven't found me the ancestors yet. The Gardners I have found in Vassalboro lived as neighbors with other families who came from Nantucket. So - if anyone has descendants of Richard and Sarah (Shattuck) Gardner, I'd also be interested. HARTMANN / HARTMAN Anton; BAD-WUE,DEU>WI,USA; 1860- My ggrandfather, Anton HARTMANN/HARTMAN, b. June 4, 1859, immigrated from Germany to Dodge Co. Wisconsin with a brother in order to avoid the military. According to my mother he came from the Alsace-Lorraine, Baden-Wurttemberg area. His father's name was also Anton HARTMANN and his mother was Mary REICHT. I think Anton and Mary stayed in Germany as my ggrandfather's death info says that Anton and Mary died in Germany.
