WARD, Bryant; IRL; 1700-1740 Bryant Ward came to the states in the early 1740s. Some think he came with the British army but this is not confirmed. He had a wife named Elizabeth or Anne but she did not come to the states (some said she was deceased.) They found records of he and Edward Ward Jr. filed land claims in Bladen County, NC. In 1764, John Ward (Bryant's son) came to the states looking for his father. I know most of what happened to Bryant and John in the states but would like any information on where in Ireland they originated from or any information you can give me. I have looked at ship records and couldn't find Bryant Ward anywhere (which might confirm the British army story. Bryant settled in North Carolina and later lived in Georgia. Bryant was nicknamed "the old trader" because he traded with the Native Ameicans. Any info is appreciated.
