    3. OBRE; Armagh, NIR; 1600- The following is extracted from my Web page which I hope will become a repository for links to other pages on the Web where the OBRE name (or possible derivatives) is being researched or where general information on the name can be found. If you have such a site or know of one, I would be only too happy to list it. Please visit my page to get an idea of the layout and then email me with your URL, ***together*** with a brief description/title. Other names featured are - CUNNINGHAM, CUPITT, DOUISSANT, DUKE, FISHER, HARVEY, IRWIN, KEENAN, KERR, (de) KNUTT, McKELVEY, MORGAN and (Mortimer) SCOTT. Mike Fisher's Family History Research Centre http://www.ozemail.com.au/~mfisher/gene/ ................................................................ The OBRE family was closely associated with various places in Co. Armagh, N. Ireland from the late 1600's through to at least the 1850's. One place in particular was an estate (?) named Clantilew in the Parish of Tartaraghan. A Margaret OBRE married Ezekiel DUKE in 1856 in the Parish of Tartaraghan. I am researching Margaret and her ancestry together with anything at all on the Obre's of Armagh. In fact, being such an unusual name, I would be interested in information on the Obre's anywhere! (Note that Obre was normally spelt with an acute accent over the "e") James DUKE, b. c1781 or c1788, farmer of Derryhale, Co.
