About all I can say is that two known genealogies which took the family history back to the early 11th century found their way into the trashcan shortly after their researchers were buried. The family, as you well know by now, is in the small side. This is both a blessing and a curse. The blessing is that we are almost certainly from the same family ancestors (little liklihood that others dependent upon us assumed our name). The curse is that the name rarely turns up on a Web site. With your permission, I'm going to investigate the possibility that Six Mile Bridge is a Townland, and if so, what church, or churches does it serve. One thing that has hampered our searches to date is finding a correct Townland for one of our ancestors. If we can do this for one, then we should be able to easily expand it. Fortunately, the O'Shaughnessys that do crop up are all in perhaps 4 or 5 counties in western Ireland. My O'Shaughnessy ancestors (grandfather) was born ca 1847 in Co. Galway, and emigrated to Pittsburgh irca 1880. Bill Shaughnessy Billshau29@aol.com
