James DEGAN, b. 1846 in either Canada or County Clare, Ireland; m. Ellen BURNS in (?)Iowa, c. 1876; d. in Iowa. They were in Iowa in the 1880 census, and at that time had two children: Mary, age 2, and Thomas, age 3 months.
