It takes the form of Bohan in Connacgt (mainly Leitrim and galway) and Bohane, Boughan and Buhan in Cork, while in Clare it is usually Bohannon which in Ulster is a synonym of the Scottish Buchanan. Would suggest looking at the index for the Griffith Valuation for County Cork as a place to start, it will state where in the county the name is found. Have you checked all legal documents in this country. That is really the best way to start your research. When you've gathered your information such as naturalization papers, marriage cert. death certifiates, any legal documents, then you will probably find more information to help narrow your search in Ireland. Good luck, Slan, Margaret (Mairead) conaught@ix.netcom.com
