His son Otto Charles (Carl) 1861-1947 was the first to come to America. Otto lived in Michigan from at least 1897 until 1947 when he died. He met his wife Mary, traveling with her mother Elizabeth on the ship to America. They may have settled first in Chicago, IL, USA. Family word of mouth has us hailing from Augsburg, Germany. Mary Blummer (Bloomer?) is thought to have come from Glarus, Switzerland. Family word of mouth info has her family as breeders of St. Bernard dogs.
