EBLE, Joseph; Freiburg DEU>USA; 1840-1900 Hi: I am trying to locate, in the scheme of things, my gggrandfather Joseph EBLE, born in Freiburg, Schwabenland, (Baden) Germany ca. 1840-1850. According to family legend, he owned a barrel factory which went bankrupt, and rather than go to jail,( which they did to people in those days) he immigrated to the USA and was never heard from again. Joseph EBLE had at least one son, Hugo, who remained in Germany and fathered my father, Hans EBLE. I immigrated to Canada in 1959, and have been here ever since.
