    3. Re: ERBE, Maria; DEU > St. Louis, MO,USA; 1882 Looking for information on Maria Erbe. Maria emigrated to the United States abt 1881-2. She states she is from Bavaria. She married Geoge Weber, St. Louis, MO in November of 1883, children: George L, Otto F., William, Molly, Lucille (Louise Helen) I would really like to know where would I most likely find this surname Erbe in Bavaria? It is my guess she arrived in St. Louis, MO..single. I am also interested in any background information on how German immigrants ended up in St. Louis...as opposed to some other place...and why they would have left at this time. Many thanks Barbara Haney Martinez, Fairbanks, Alaska <mlm@mosquitonet.com>

    3. ZECH Otto, Charles / BLUMMER Mary; DEU> Chicago, IL,USA; m. -1896 I am looking for info on my Great Great Grandfather Joseph Zech. His son Otto Charles (Carl) 1861-1947 was the first to come to America. Otto lived in Michigan from at least 1897 until 1947 when he died. He met his wife Mary, traveling with her mother Elizabeth on the ship to America. They may have settled first in Chicago, IL, USA. Family word of mouth has us hailing from Augsburg, Germany. Mary Blummer (Bloomer?) is thought to have come from Glarus, Switzerland. Family word of mouth info has her family as breeders of St. Bernard dogs. Mary spoke some language other than German when she met Otto. Looking for help bridging the Atlantic. glarus@aol.com (Glarus)
