    3. BOEHLE; Volkmarsen DEU>NY,USA; c.1820 I would like to hear from Boehle descendants. My Bernard with wife Eva had son Heinrich Joseph in Volkmarsen (near Kassel, West Prussia) in 1817. Then I have him alone, with other grown children, operating the Bailey Hotel in Whiteport, near Kingston NY, from the 1860's on. His grandson Bernard Bailey moved to Joliet IL and had a large family, including another Bernard. The Kingston family lost contact with them and would like to re-establish it. 3. Re: STRAUB; DEU>MD,USA; 1867 I have no information on the individuals in your family, but this may be helpful. My family includes a Catherine Straub who came to NY in June 1853 with her daugher Crescynthia, one month after Roman Straub, buried in the same Kingston,NY cemetery with her. He is believed to be her brother (his son is known by my family to be a cousin). His ship record states he is from Obertalheim (near Nagold) in Wuerttemberg, Germany. I have not tried to do further research, other than look at the usual, large German gen. websites, which have no data or bulletin board listings relating to my Straubs. If you find a good source for Wuerttemberg info, please let me know. Sharon Carberry FutchCar@aol.com Researching Dahlem (Lux.), Boehle (Kassel), Koehler (Aus.), and Futch (Heidelberg)

    3. Re: SCHMID Friedrich; WUE,DEU>OH,USA; 1827-1891 Lee, There are probably lots of Friedrich SCHMID's, but here is part of my line. Please note that Friedrich SCHMID and Katharina SEEGER were married on 26 Apr 1826. I'm sure there were other children besides Katharina (my ancestor), and the dates allow room for a child to be born in 1927. Several of Katharina SCHMID MASER's children came to the USA, but much later than your Friedrich. Walter H. Rauser (I hope the line wrapping doesn't destroy the following chart. I'll try!) 3. KOHLSTAEDT Kathryn; HK,HES,DEU>IN,USA; 1868-1927 I am looking for information on the KOHLSTAEDT/KOHLST"ADT surname. My maternal grandmother was Kathryn KOHLSTAEDT [b. 29 Jan 1868 in Hesse-Kassel, Germany]. Kathryn died 15 Jun 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Kathryn's father was named "Henry" (mother's name unknown to me). Kathryn emmigrated to the U.S. abt 1893, and apparently came immediately from her (unknown) port of entry to Indianapolis, Indiana. I THINK Kathryn had two brothers: Konrad and George, but they may have been half-brothers. Kathryn married Edward HUEVEL (variously spelled H"UBEL or H"UBELE) on 21 May 1898 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. I do not know Edward's mother's name, but his father was named "William". At the time of his death (8 Jul 1912), Edward was listed as a general laborer (or, some records say, a cooper; others, a barkeeper) in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. If any of these names are familiar to you, I would appreciate any information you can provide on Kathryn's and/or Edward's birthplaces and the names of their parents. [I can supply a list of the descendants of Edward & Kathryn if these names would be helpful.] Please contact: Robert C. Kryter, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, U.S.A. RKryter@aol.com

Almost immediately he and Dorothea moved to Wheeling, Virginia (later, WV), USA, where Wilhelm established a business as a manufacturer of cutlery and surgical instruments. He died in Wheeling, West Virginia, USA on 16 Jul 1866. So far as I know, Wilhelm and Dorothea had only one child, Karl Albert Kryter, b. 1847 in Wheeling, Virginia (later to become West Virginia).
