Jacques Kapp was born 1806 in Plobsheim, Bas-Rhin, Alsace. He married Anne Marie Recht. This information comes from the birth certificate of their daughter Dorothe Kapp born 1861 in Plobsheim. Dorothe married Philippe Charles Halter about 1884 in Bas-Rhin. They had children Eugen Karl, Berta, Luise, moved to Waldkirch, Germany and had Emma. I have information on only 2 of them. 1. Albert Schmehl b. abt 1840 in Germany He came to the United States abt 1860. He returned to Germany after the Civil War here in the United States. After returning to Germany, he lived around Bonn, Germany. He had several children all born in Germany. Albert never returned to the United States as far as I know. 2. Friedrick (Frederick) Schmehl Born in Hanover or Killinghausen, Germany Friedrick stayed in the United States and raised his family. Any help locating this family would be greatly appreciated. HABERSTROH Christian Gottlieb; Duerrn,BAD,DEU>USA; 1869 According to German records Christian Gottlieb HABERSTROH (born 15 Aug 1842) and his brother Ferdinand HABERSTROH (born 12 Oct 1827) emigrated from the town of Duerrn in Baden, Germany, to the USA in 1869. They were the sons of Ferdinand HABERSTROH (1800-1877) and Karoline (ENGEL) HABERSTROH (1799-1876). Ferdinand emigrated with the consent of his wife, Christina (STAMM) HABERSTROH (born 19 Aug 1842), who remained in Duerrn. I'm interested in finding descendants of this family in the USA.
