    3. VON RAASCH Caroline; DEU; c.1860-1870 I am searching for information on Caroline von Raasch, who may have been in the German aristocracy. Caroline would have been born between 1860 and 1870. She married a commoner (we believe his name was Freidrich Schewe) and was disowned by her family. She later came to the US with her husband. Please respond to gini115@aol.com Thanks.

Hermann was born in 1824 in the Grand Duchy of Saxony. I don't have the name of the town or village. Hermann's mother's maiden name was Heinke. She was not married when Hermann was born. She later married Hermann's father, last name Beer and Hermann's full brother, Jacob, was born in 1837. Hermann and Jacob came to the US (Wisconsin) between 1845 and 1855. 3. METZIG August / METZIG Gotthelf; Altenburg,SAC,DEU; b.c.1821 I am searching for information on the METZIG family. Three brothers came to the US (Wisconsin) from the Altenburg, Sachsen, Germany area between 1854-1859. They probably came in 3 separate crossings. August was born around 1821. He was a farmer. August was married to Doratha and had 3 daughters while still in Germany. Another brother, Benjamin, was born in 1823. Benjamin was a woodworker. Benjamin was married to Rachel and had a son and a daughter while in Germany. Gotthelf was born around 1826. Gotthelf was married with a wife and son who he left in Germany when he came to this country. Gotthelf was also known to have studied for the Lutheran ministry, but we don't think he completed his study. I would like to know if any descendents of his son are still alive. I am also confused by whether Altenburg is the current town located in Thuringia, or the village of Altenberg which is located in present state of Saxony or whether this was a separate kingdom in Saxony at the time. If you can help, please contact me at this address: gini115@aol.com Thanks.
