    3. HALLER, Gabriel; DEU > USA; 1855 Hi, I'm researching the HALLER/ROHRER families. Most of the information that I know about them is listed below. Does anybody know anything about these families or where they came from specifically? Thanks in advance for any information that you can give to me. Mark Haller markh@comware.com *********************************************** My great-great-grandfather GABRIEL HALLER came from Wurttemberg to the USA in 1855. We think that he was already married to ROSINA ROHRER and that they had their first child KAROLINA HALLER in Nov 1855. The passenger information only lists Gabriel-we think that Rosina and Karolina came over later. On their Death Certificates, both Gabriel and Rosina list their place of birth as Wurttemberg. Rosina's parents were JACOB ROHRER and CARA MACHT, both of whom were from Baden. Gabriel listed his parents (no names) as being from Baden too. >From 1855 through 1861, I have no trace of Gabriel. From 1861-1867, the family lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. In 1872, they moved to Xenia, Ohio, USA. They lived there until there deaths.

They came from Herxheim, near Landau, in the Palatinate and the family goes back several hundred years in their records. This might be a lead for pursuing their records is they came from this town. When we were in Germany about 6 years ago, Herxheim was referred to as "Trauth Town". I hope this helps. Fran Luebke nfluebke@execpc.com
