BAILEY; KID,IRL>ON,CAN; c. 1828 John BAILEY ( ~1773-1858) emigrated from Co. Kildare to Lanark County, Ontario, Canada, ~1828, with his daughter Dorthea (~1809-1894). I have no information about ancestors, spouse, or other children. John settled on a farm next to Samuel BAILEY, who had arrived in 1813 from Co. Tyrone, implying possible Tyrone connections for John. Dorthea married Samuel's son, John BAILEY (1814-1870), so the relationship between John and Samuel is unlikely to be close (at least I hope so!). Another BAILEY, Edward, (1800-1867) emigrated to Lanark from Castledermot Parish, Co. Kildare, in 1830. His father was likely James BAILEY (d.1820). Both branches of BAILEYS left for Lambton County, Ontario, in the 1850's and 1860's. Family lore says there is a relationship between Edward/Samuel/John, but it is not established. Does anyone have any information about BAILEYS from Kildare? Has anyone run into any Kildare BAILEYS who might be connected to these ones? Thank you.
