    3. HENRY, John; ON,CAN; 1850 Dear folks, I'm looking for the descendants of John and Susan Henry, nee Blackman, who emigrated from Sligo to Canada in the mid 1800s, and settled in Albion Township, Peel County. Their son William married (28/9/1854, in Albion Township) Susan Irwin, the daughter of Alexander and "Fanny" Frances Devereaux Irwin (nee Burrows). They resided in Albion Township and later (c1884) moved to Artemesia, Grey County, Ontario. My great-great-great-grandparents were Dr. Jervis and Margaretta Blackman (nee Fenton) of Sligo. The name Jervis has continued in our family as in the Henry family of Sligo. It is thought that Susan Blackman (Mrs J. Henry) is Jervis' sister. Another sister married Brevet Major William Irwin of Sligo, who died in Australia in 1840. His wife later joined her sister in Ontario. As in the Henry family, our family has passed on the story that the Blackman family were from Kent, though recent investigation would suggest they were from Limpsfield, Surrey, not far from Kent. A descendant, MR G. HOWARD wrote a book in the late 1980s about the "Henry & Irwin Families". Regards, John "J M & W S" <bungarribee@winshop.com.au>
