There is also a reference in the "Illustrated Historical Atlas of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties, 1878, Mika Publishing Company, Belleville, 1977 Volume/Page:6" to A. Baker (maybe Annie) living in Hastings County in 1878. If you are interested in the history of Hastings County, you should try and contact the Hastings County Council to get a copy of a book that was published in 1967 called HISTORIC HASTINGS by Gerald E. Boyce on behalf of the Hastings County Historical Society. The Hastings County offices can be located at the following: COUNTY OF HASTINGS 5 STEWART ST. TRENTON, ON K8V 6H5 (613) 392-1387 I am not aware if the Hastings County Historical Society still exists, but there is a collection of their material located at the Corby Public Library in Belleville. The library can be contacted at the following: Corby Public Library 223 Pinnacle St. (Hwy 62) Belleville, ON K8N 3A7 (613) 968-6731 The reason I know so much about the area, I was born and raised there and my father was a big history buff. And it just so happens that the author of "Historic Hastings" was my vice-principal in high school. If there is anything else I can help you with, let me know.
