    3. Re: TREACY Patrick; NF,CAN> MA,USA; 1876-1956 I am looking for information on Patrick Tracey. who was godfather to my ggrandfather Patrick Carberry, baptised 22 Jul 1855 at At. Anges Chruch in Lachine (Montreal) CAN. \the godmother was Johanna Fully. The priest who entered the information into the parish record was French and perhaps off on the spellings. My ggrandfather's mother was Catherine Donnellan Carberry, a widow by the time of the birth, and I am researching who she managed to raise her three children and eventually get to Philadelphia. Please send more information on your Patrick Treacy, including where in Mass. he settled. I am live in Conn. Thank you. Sharon Carberry futchcar@aol.com (FutchCar)

    3. HANNIGAN,Guil; IRL>NB,CAN; 1840-1850 Hi fellow listers! I am researching the HANNIGAN name in Canada and have reached a road block. I am wondering if Hannigan is indeed an Irish name, and if it is so uncommon why can't I find anyone else working on them. I can't be the only one in the whole world looking!! What part of Ireland did/do they live in? Is there an Irish translation of Hannigan and what does Hannigan mean anyway? Which clan or sept did they come from? Is Guil an Irish name? Does it mean William? I am looking for a Guil Hannigan who arrived in Nova Scotia Canada about 1840 - 1850 but he does not show up in the Census for the time period. He married Johanna Stairs in Halifax on 13 Oct 1851 and they went on to have 2 sons and 2 daughters all baptised in the church where they were married. Any assistance would be invaluable and very much appreciated! Thanks in advance and happy holidays! Kelly (Hannigan) Copeland "K. Copeland" <kasey@bconnex.net>
