Michael and Elizabeth were both born Upper Canada. Family Member Info from 1861 census: Martin COUGHLIN age 35, Prudence age 30, Prudence age 14, Mary age 11(my Ggrandmother), Michael age 8 and Elizabeth age 6. My Ggrandmother and her husband Jared rem. to Beatrice, NE in 1880. I simply have not been able to locate the rest of the COUGHLIN family after 1861. Hoping the names look familiar to someone. WINTERS; ON,CAN; c. 1900 I am looking for descendents of my father's family - the children of Benjamin and Edna Winters of Osnabruck Centre. They were both from UEL families. Their children were Alice, Minnie, Herbert, Cersey (Kerry?), Etna (Edna?), Simon and Sarah (Byrdie). The last is my grandmother, who died during her first childbirth. She is buried in Osnabruck Centre. Alice and Minnie died without issue, but Cersey, Etna, Herbert and Simon supposedly had families. Simon was known to have children - he was a lay preacher in the Adventist church who moved to Carleton Place, Ont (or thereabouts) in adulthood. I don't know where the other three went. SKERRITT / SKIRRITT; ENG > CAN / USA; 1785- I am looking for the marriage of John Skerritt and Alice_______ around 1786-87 probably in Lincolnshire or some adjoining county in England. Their children were born in the Grantham Parish but I don't find their marriage. There is a fair representation of this name in the Grantham Parish for at least 100 years, but I'm missing my connectors. My research has led me to Canada as it appears that some of the descendants went to both the US and Canada. If you have any sources for this information such as marriage indexes where you could do a look-up for me I would greatly appreciate it. If you happen to run across any other Skerritt marriages in the process I would appreciate knowing about those too. Each new piece of information seems to put another piece of the puzzle in place. Re: MAHONEY / MAHONY / REGAN; COR,IRL > ON,CAN; 1791-1870 Jean, I had contact with you some time ago. I am still working on my Mahoneys, and there are two Regans who served as Baptismal sponsors: an Ellen and a Jeremiah so I assume the Regans were connected to my Mahonys. These Baptisms occurred in the parish of Drimoleague. Have you checked the Tithe Applotment Books for your name (if your ancestor came to Canada before Griffith's in the 1850's?) FIELD / POTTER; Montreal,CAN>USA; 1815-1830 William FIELD was born in Pocklington, Yorkshire, England around 1810. He arrived as a child in Montreal around 1815. His parents returned to England leaving their children behind. I don't know if they were left with relatives or an institution. William grew up in Montreal and married Ann POTTER, daughter of Edward POTTER and Grace (WAITE) POTTER. They became early converts to the LDS and moved to Ohio in the very early 1830's. As you can see, my knowledge of William's early years and ancestry is extremely limited. I'd dearly love to find out who his parents were, why they returned to England, and with whom the children were left. Does anybody here know if there was a census in Montreal between 1815 and 1830? How much info was included? Where can I access it? BTW, please don't tell me to use my local FHC. Although William and his family were early Mormon converts, and followed the entire hegira from Ohio to Utah, they left the church and ran away from Salt Lake in 1848. They've been pretty much excised from all church records. MARSHALL, Henry John; ON,CAN; 1828-1888 I am looking for information about this man and his descendents, if any.
