SEWELL; Durham, ENG; 1800-1900 Looking for the family and ancestors of Robert SEWELL of Durham County, ENG. My only records of him are the marriage cert of his daughter, Sarah, to Charles Walker BROWN in 1858 in New Shildon where he is listed as being a Mason by trade. I have been told he is in the 1841 Census of St. Helen Auckland, where he is listed, aged 40, with a wife, Margaret, age 40, and children, Thomas (13), Marian or Mariah (9), and Sarah (7). I have been unable to get my hands on the actual records yet and I havent located them in the 1851 Census. I would appreciate any leads on this family:) An extremely nice gent sent my a one name study of the 1881 Census, but until I can get more info on this family, I can't use it. The Robert SEWELL's listed were too young and his daughter, Sarah, married and immigrated to Texas. The son was named Thomas, but none of the Thomas' listed was the right age.
