ROCHFORT / BUTTON / GOOCH; LND,ENG; 1750-1840 Frank ROCHFORT (b ca 1795) was a gold- & silversmith and jeweler in London, and married Sarah BUTTON (b 06Mar1796) from Brundish, Suffolk on 12May1817. Their chn: Mary Dorothy (1817), Frank (1821), Jane Elizabeth (1823), Joseph (1827), John (1832) and Augusta (1838). These chn were all christened at St James in Westminster, London. Several of them emigrated to New Zealand. Frank's wife, Sarah BUTTON, was the 2nd dtr of Samuel BUTTON (farmer) and Dorothy Lucy GOOCH (b29Mar1764). Other chn: Harriet (1793), Cealia (1798), Samuel (1800), James Clark (1803), Elizabeth (1805) and John (1807). Sarah's mother, Dorothy Lucy GOOCH, was the eldest dtr of James Wyard GOOCH and Hannah. (Other chn: Mary (1766), Elizabeth (1768), James Wyard (1768), John Nance (1770), Coelia (1770), Hannah (1774), Harriot (1774) and Sarah (1779). I'd dearly love to get my hands on any more details of this lineage!!! Is there any sort of archive that may have information about gold- and silversmiths and/or jewellers?
