HEYWOOD Thomas Spearmen; MDX,ENG; 1820-1893 Thomas was my g/grandfather and Paymaster-in-Chief in the Royal Navy from 2nd July 1870 to 21st Dec 1871, retiring as a Greenwich Hospital Pensioner. (Details from the Blue Books) 1. Could someone help me with info on how to trace his naval career, please; 2. Of his children, (a) Mary Ann H. married John Samuel MOORE (also Paymaster in the RN), (b)Margaret Christine H. married Edward Keir HETT in 1868, (c)Thomas McMurdo H. married his first wife, Mary FERGUS (second unknown), and became a Cardiff shipping merchant and coal mine and tug owner, and (d)Melville Jane H. married Dr Alfred PERN (dying in Ceylon). (e)My g/father, Arthur Douglas H., and g/uncle, Henry Stewart Johns H., came to Australia. Has anybody any info on any of the above, please? I would much appreciate any help I can get.
