LONGSTAFF; DUR,ENG>VIC,AUS; 1820-1920 I am looking for descendants of Ralph Longstaff or his siblings, born in the Wear Valley, Stanhope area, of Co. Durham, England. Ralph migrated to Victoria, Australia, ca. 1850. He was the son of John Longstaff and Phoebe Vickers, both of the Weardale area also. Have located descendants of Ralph's brother Thomas Longstaff from Weardale but would like to find others and also any descendants of Ralph, who lived to be 97 in Australia. He married Jessie Campbell from Scotland in about 1857, and they were the parents of Australia artist John Campbell Longstaff as well as many other children. There is a book on the Longstaffs of Weardale and Teesdale, done early in this century, by an Englishman named Longstaff. I do not have a copy of it, just copies of my line's pages; but it can be found in the library at the University of Durham and is on LDS film that can be ordered at your FHC under LANGSTAFF.
