    3. PLANT; DBY,ENG; 1920 Eric Thomas PLANT was born in Much Woolton, Liverpool, which I believe is in the county of Lancashire (please correct me if I'm wrong), in 1920. His mother's name was Mabel HARDING, his father was John Thomas PLANT, a stud groom and poultry farmer. When Eric was born it lists the informant as Mabel, and then the address 37 Eaton Road, Sale. Would this be where Mabel was born or from? Eric married Ivy BAILEY in Whitwell, DBY, in 1944. At that time he and Ivy lived at 27 Malthouse Row, and Eric was with H.M.Forces. In 1947, Eric died on the same street where he lived and was later buried, Malthouse Row. He was struck by a lorry while driving his motorcyle home from work in Staveley, where he was a general labourer. Eric was taken to Victoria Hospital, Worksop, Nottinghamshire. The man who accidentally hit him was Ernest Marshall. Three months after Eric died, his son Eric Jr. was born, my father-in-law, and within a year from his birth he was an orphan, as Ivy died on the operating table in 1948. Eric Sr. was also a horseman in his lifetime, and apparently trained as a jockey in Norhtern Ireland. Does anyone know how I could confirm this information? During the war Eric was with the Cheshire Yeomanry, can anyone tell me how I would go about getting his service records? Eric had a sister Ethel as well, who's married name was Shirley, she had two sons, Darrel and William. Eric's father, John Thomas, sometimes went by just Thomas and was supposedly born in Wolverhampton, and had a brother James who was a Publican there. Any and all information and suggestions will be most welcome. Thanks Ketti from Calgary kplant@telusplanet.net
