COOPEY William Hubert; GLS,ENG; 1840-1880 Hello, I am looking for any information on the following person. He is my ggfather. Also I am looking for any other Coopeys. The name was common in the Gloucester area. Name William Hubert Coopey Born 1857 Gloucester Died abt 1932 Occupation Coal trimmer Wife: Sarah Ann Cook Possibly lived at 4 Glamorgan St, Canton, Cardiff Wales in 1882. He then lived at 22 Sandon Place, Adamsdown, Cardiff. Worked for Albion Steam Coal Co at Cardiff Docks. He joined the 37th Brigade in 1878, during the Boer War, and in the Russian - Turkish campaign he saw service with the Munster Fusiliers. He then joined the army at the start of WW1 but did not go abroad. (Cardiff Times extract, Sat 22nd Oct 1927) I would like to find out about his war records but I know nothing of the 37th brigade or the Munster Fusiliers. If anyone can help with these details or suggestions as to where I could go from here, I would really appreciate it.
