ARDEN; ENG; 1400 I am researching the family of Nicholas ARDEN of Shipton in Oxfordshire, England in the 1400's. I have just started researching this line, so I know very little about this family so far. Nicholas ARDEN had a daughter who was his heiress and who has been called Joan or Alice at various times. She married James BRAMPTON and the BRAMPTONs owned a small manor in the western part of Cowdham, Kent, England. Their daughter Alice BRAMPTON married John PETLEY.
