WATERS; Cardiff,GLA,WLS; 1927 Hello, This is a real shot in the dark, but you never know...... In the summer of 1994 a young Canadian couple arrived by train at Cardiff General Station(S.Wales) and went to the tourist desk to arrange for a taxi. John Forster of Croeso Tours (who remembers the couple) picked them up and took them to two addresses in Cardiff; the first was 12 Lily Street and the other an unknown address in Grangetown. They explained that they were visiting places that were associated with their forebears, but neither the taxi driver nor the lady now living in 12 Lily Street knows the name of these Canadian visitors. I am interested in this event because !2 Lily Street is strongly associated with my Great Grandfather Rees Wilkins and the WATERS family who lived there for many years - RW died there in 1924. Rees' sister Mary Ann had married WILLIAM WATERS in 1865 and the couple lived there all their lives, bringing up a large family - mostly boys!! She died there in 1927 aged 86yrs. Other members of the Waters family lived in nearby Cyfarthfa Street. It may be that the visitors are not into Family History but if anyone can shed any light on this event I would be glad to hear from them so that I can contact the couple. Thanks, Ken Wilkins, Bristol, UK. (KenWilkins1@compuserve.com)
