ROUGH, Robert; UK>USA; c. 1853 I'm trying to track the movements of Robert Rough who left London and went to Connecticut around 1853. He appears to have lived around Stamford area until about 1863 when he returned to Scotland. It is possible his whole family emigrated in the 1850s, and perhaps some, including his parents Lewis and Margaret, may have stayed. Looking for help with shipping records or census. Thanks in advance Brian Rough Jabiru@ecn.net.au

Re: SCARR / CALVERT; YKS,ENG; 1700-1900 Dear Becky: I'm Yorkshire born and raised(Goole). My mom, now 91 lives here in Washington St.too. She was born and raised in Blacktoft, on the River Ouse between Goole and Hull. I have researched her line last year. Her mother was Ada Carr, born out of wedlock to Sarah Ann Carr in 1884.Sarah Ann later married A Mr Ripley. The Carrs were in Blacktoft from about 1810, the earliest marriage I found- Robert Carr m. Catherine Margrave, Nov. 24 1783 at Airmyn( near Goole) The Margraves I traced back to York. Their son Joseph, married Sarah Smith in Airmyn in 1810. Interestingly, there were Scarrs in Blacktoft then, and still. are. I am in touch with a second cousin who lives near there. The E-mail address I prefer is joyduval@juno.com since I may not sign up with aol after this month. I belong a group in England called the Boothferry Family and local History Group . There are lots of Carrs on the South side of the Rivers Ouse/Humber -in Adlingfleet, Brigg, etc. The LDS (Mormon church) Family history Centre computer data banks have lots of them. Does any of this help? >Was Carr a misprint for Scarr? Joyce Duval joyduval@aol.com (Joyduval)
