Sufflok is comparatively close to Cambridge. Edward's son Henry moved to Middlesborough in late 1800's. Have you any connections there? If I can find any more information I'll let you know. The name Rickman crops up more than once in my mainly-Quaker families, but not (yet) as a surname, just as a middle name. I have got no further than wondering where it came from, but I think it must be a wife's maiden name (in my families). If William Rickman's parents were Quakers and he was born before 1837 then he would not be in the GRO index and the Quaker records would need searching. Oddly enough, I am having trouble with an Etherington connection in a non-Quaker family. Howard. 3. BOUND, Mary Ann; WLS; 1861 Hello: Does anyone have any suggestions or observations? Mary Ann BOUND gave her address on marriage certificate as China Street, Llanidloes gave her birthdate as 23 November 1861. Married David Hamer JONES, 21 November 1884, Baptist Church, Short Bridge Street, Llanidloes. No father's name given for Mary Ann. She maintained throughout her life that she did not know who her parents were and that she had been raised by her grandparents. She did not give her children any grandparents names either. She described the following people as her cousins: 1. William BOUND, a witness at her wedding. I believe that this is the marriage of "cousin" William BOUND otp & Eliza EVANS otp by banns wits William Mytton; James Lewis (7 September 1832 Abbey Cwmhir) William and Eliza's daughter: Mary daughter of William & Eliza (sic) BOUND of Eskir, labourer. 2. Mary REES BOWEN of Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of Ann BOUND (1844-1941)& Edward REES (1842-1925) emigrated from Montgomeryshire to Iowa in 1881. 3. John BOUND (1903-1984) Powys. John survived by sister Mary HUMPHREYS; sister-in-law Sarah BOUND; nephews Reg LLOYD, Mervyn LLOYD, Bill LLOYD, Major Harold BOUND, David BENNETT; cousin Eileen DAVIES. Described in obit as "all of Wales." Ashes returned to "the country that he loved" Wales. I am trying to establish a common ancestor for these "cousins" so that I may come back down the line to Mary Ann. I have found a birth of a Mary Ann BOUND in the 4th quarter of 1861, a christening 7 October 1863 in Llangurig, Montgomery; a Mary Ann BOUND born Llandinam who is 19 on the 1881 census; and a Mary Ann BOUND who is 9 years old on the 1871 census, whose Mother is born in St. Harmons. Any information or suggestions appreciated. Thank you Eleanor Morning Star Ranch <enns@man.net>
