MAGNALL / MANGNALL Thomas; LAN,ENG; 1800- Searching for any info on: Thomas Magnall/Mangnall/Mangnell b.abt 1811 probably in or near Tottington Lower End marr Rachel (probably Isherwood) b.abt 1815 1841 Census Thomas is a cotton weaver living at Withings Clough, Tottington Lower End, LAN ENG with his wife Rachel and a John Isherwood age 66, agric.labourer who may have been Rachel's father. At this stage they had three children, William, Ann and Nancy. 1851 Census Thomas is a hand loom weaver living at Boardmans, Tottington Lower End with Rachel and 6 children, William, Nancy, James, Betsy, John and Rachel. Some time between 1851 and 1871 the family moved to Habergham Eaves near Burnley possibly via Bolton. They had at least another 6 children - Mary A., Margaret, Ralph (my g-g-grandfather), Thomas, Joseph and Sarah J. By the 1871 Census Rachel is a widow. Ralph's marriage certificate of 1876 describes Thomas as a Stone Quarrier. Any information on this Magnall or any other member of the Magnall or Mangnall family most welcome.
