    3. MOGRAGE / MOGRIDGE / MOGGERIDGE John; UK; d. 1704 Good Day and Greetings from Atlanta: I seek to establish the birthplace and the journey-to-the-New World departure site of my ancestor, John Mograge (variations in spelling). He was born between l630-l640 in the South of England. He was established in Maine (then Massachusetts) in l669. He was married to Sarah Endle. He was listed as a bricklayer. He participated in Indian Wars and joined the Baptist church in Boston. His USA family is traced, but we are very eager to establish the British connection. While the name appears in baptismal records, the same name also appears in parish death records. No evidence of sailing to America. No passenger lists have borne John's name. Any leads would be appreciated. [email protected]

    1. GRAHAM James; SOM,ENG; 1830-1901

    3. GRAHAM James; SOM,ENG; 1830-1901 My great grandfather was James GRAHAM who was born Nov 29, 1830 and died in 1901. I have a copy of a marriage document from the Parish of All Saints in the City of Hereford certifying that James GRAHAM was married to Fanny FRANCIS Dec 31, 1854 at that place. His residence is given as Eign Street, hers as Bedminster (Bristol). From the document James was an accountant and his father, William was an auctioneer. The first child Francis Henrietta was born 1856 in Bedminster (Counties of Bristol and Somerset). The second child, George Herbert was born 1858 at Cardiff. The third child, Alfred Ernest was born 1859 at Newport, Wales (County of Monmouth). Then came Joseph Arthur, Reginald James, and Minnie Beatrice. My grandmother Kate Louise, was also born at Newport, Wales, and William Henry, the last was born in the USA. In 1870 they came from Bristol to Connecticut, USA with their children. I do not have a James GRAHAM birth certification. The Bristol Records Office has researched William and James Graham without success. The Hereford and Bristol areas census have been searched also without success. You can contact me, John Conover, at [email protected] or see my Home Page at http://members.aol.com/revonoc/index.html where there are 50 more surnames.

    2. David & Vonnie Galusha
    3. SEWELL; Durham, ENG; 1800-1900 Looking for the family and ancestors of Robert SEWELL of Durham County, ENG. My only records of him are the marriage cert of his daughter, Sarah, to Charles Walker BROWN in 1858 in New Shildon where he is listed as being a Mason by trade. I have been told he is in the 1841 Census of St. Helen Auckland, where he is listed, aged 40, with a wife, Margaret, age 40, and children, Thomas (13), Marian or Mariah (9), and Sarah (7). I have been unable to get my hands on the actual records yet and I havent located them in the 1851 Census. I would appreciate any leads on this family:) An extremely nice gent sent my a one name study of the 1881 Census, but until I can get more info on this family, I can't use it. The Robert SEWELL's listed were too young and his daughter, Sarah, married and immigrated to Texas. The son was named Thomas, but none of the Thomas' listed was the right age. I hope to be able to use it in the future:) Always looking... Vonnie Galusha [email protected]

    3. HODGKINS; GBR; 1750-1950 Hi I am tracing the family of HODGKINS particularly in the London & Gloucester districts, and would be pleased to receive any data that might help. The earliest area I have for them is Stow On The Wold especially Broadwell. Sometime during the 19th C they moved towards London. Godfrey Clement HODGKINS' mother was Rose Ellen ( CLEMENTS or similar as the maiden name is hard to distinguish on his birth certificate in 1896 ). I know nothing about his mother who married John Charles HODGKINS he came from Gloucester but she may have come from elsewhere. But they definitely settled in London eventually. Godfrey later married May Thorn MORTIMER her father was the landlord of The Wellington public house in Leyton, London. Apart from these specific queries any info on the HODGKINS family in any area would be most graciously accepted. If anyone could help with any information, no matter how trivial. More than happy to receive & exchange info on the following surnames : Other British families researching : ALLEN - LODDER - BRANN - NEEDHAM - MORTIMER - and HARTE (Ireland) Smiles & Best Wishes PAUL [email protected] "Paul J. 3. WATSON, Caroline; SRY,ENG; c. 1865 * LAST POSTED October 1997* WATSON, Caroline; SRY, ENG; pre1865 Has anyone got a spare Caroline Watson in their family tree? She married my great great grandfather William Richard Hardie in Kennington 1865; she was the spinster daughter of James Watson, gentleman. She may have a sister or cousin called Emma Mary Watson. I can't find a birth registration for her, nor does she appear as a married lady in 1881 census. Her 1882 death certificate gives her age as 39 so she'd be born c1843 - but I don't know where she was born. Any help gratefully received and acknoweledged. Regards, Lesley email: [email protected]

I am specifically looking for a >Thomas WEARNE, but would also like general informaion. >Thanks >Phyllis > >[email protected] We have some hundreds of Wearne names and associated families, from Cornwall to Australia. They are included on our home page under "Adam ad Infinitum...". The earliest is Robert Wearne (or Wearinus) born circa 1560 in Wendron, Cornwall who married Chris Gilbert on 17 Jan 1580 in Cornwall. Though we have less than 50% of the names I have seen on other indexes, there is not one Thomas among them (yet) on our lists. Do you have any specific dates, places, etc. as Thomas is a popular name ? Have you also tried the Wearne Guild of One Name studies in Cornwall, or GENUKI on the Net ?
