MOSS Horace William; ENG; b. 1915 Is Horace your father or grandfather. He was born 23 Sept. 1915 in Clerkenwell, London. He was the son of Albert Edward Moss and Phoebe Ellen Allard. Horace would be 82 yrs old and may still be alive. He is the youngest brother of my grandfather George Albert Patrick Moss, and until recently we were unaware that he existed. It would be great to make contact with these lost relations so if you are a Moss, or know of a Moss family have a look see whether you are related to Horace, and thereby the Mosses from New Zealand. thanks in advance. CRAWLEY, Fitzowen; HRT,ENG>ON,CAN; 1875- I am searching for descendants of Fitzowen William Crawley, born 1840, Hertfordshire, England. He married Annie Elizabeth Catlin in England, and they had three children - Fitzowen William, b. 1864, and Gertrude Sarah and Annie Elizabeth, twins born 1870. They moved to Canada, and had a fourth child, Thomas Catlin, in Guelph, Ontario in 1876. Thomas had only one child, my father, Thomas Percy Catlin. I would like to find descendants of the other three children. It would be great to find a real, live Crawley! Any information, or ideas as to accessing birth, marriage and death records in Ontario would be appreciated. Thanks. Ruth Staal <[email protected]>
HOWARD Henry; SSX,ENG; -1900 I am slowly putting together my mothers family tree and am searching for any information on my ggg grandfather. His father was Henry Howard , a labourer. His mothers name was Sarah Lesmore. Betsy Susannah was aged 20 and her fathers name was Noah Hilling. They might have originated from Sussex. Henry Moore Howard emigrated to Australia and died in a mining accident aged 45. Any information would be greatly appreciated. SINCERELY JANINE WOOLNOUGH "Jeff woolnough" <[email protected]>

Re: JORDAN; ENG; -1670 Bob, The IGI list I have is fairly old (1988), therefore many Lincolnshire counties are not included. In fact IGI is still very sparse for many parts of England. I will transcribe the Jordan names you are interested in from before 1670. Have you sent any queries to county mailing lists? Some of the county lists seem to have active researchers with more complete databases or access to such. Also as you probably know the IGI is only a starting place because of transcription errors and incomplete status. BOUGHAY; DOR,ENG; 1881 I am trying to trace back my family line BOUGHAY. I have managed to trace back to 09-02-1881 being the birthdate of my ggrandfather Albert Boughay. He was possibly born in the Sherborn area( Dorset ), moved to Rhymney and then Abertwssyg. His father was Thomas Boughay who as of yet I have no records of. WHYTE; Blackford, PER,SCT; 1700-1738 Interested if anyone else is tracing this family. So far I have confirmation of the birth of my ancestor, David Whyte in 1744. David married Isabel Mailer in 1772. The parish records that I have viewed at the FHC and in SLC seem to only begin in 1738, and David's parents, Robert Whyte and Jean Hepburn marriage and birth dates were before then. Their first child that appears in the OPR is James, b. 1740. Other Children are Mary b. 1742, David b. 1744, Isobel b. 1746, Peter and Robert b. 1749, Elizabeth b. 1753. Robert and his Whyte decendants were millers up until 1891 that I know of. The family home was at the Mill of Dochally in or near Blackford. If anyone is familiar with the area, can they tell me something about it? Is the Mill or it's remnants still there? If not is there a record of where it was actually located? Are there other records that might help me get further back than 1738? Is there a churchyard that might have headstones of these people that are readable? Do not email me as I am in the process of changing providers, but please post any reply to this newsgroup so that I can get it when I am hooked up again. Thanks Mike Bleackley Calgary, AB Canada "Mike Bleackley" <[email protected]>
