WHYTE; Blackford, PER,SCT; 1700-1738 Interested if anyone else is tracing this family. So far I have confirmation of the birth of my ancestor, David Whyte in 1744. David married Isabel Mailer in 1772. The parish records that I have viewed at the FHC and in SLC seem to only begin in 1738, and David's parents, Robert Whyte and Jean Hepburn marriage and birth dates were before then. Their first child that appears in the OPR is James, b. 1740. Other Children are Mary b. 1742, David b. 1744, Isobel b. 1746, Peter and Robert b. 1749, Elizabeth b. 1753. Robert and his Whyte decendants were millers up until 1891 that I know of. The family home was at the Mill of Dochally in or near Blackford.
