ROSECRANS / HINES; NY,USA; 1816-1862 Can anyone help me find the parents of Franklin Rosecrans. He is my 3rd great grandfather. He was born January 28, 1816 possibly in Little Falls, Herkimer County, New York or somewhere in St. Lawrence County, New York. He married Frances Hines October 31, 1839 in Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence County, New York. They had 15 children born in New York between 1841 and 1862. One more was born in Ohio in 1864. Frank and Frances spent the rest of their life in Henrietta, Lorain County, Ohio. My main source for Frank's birth and marriage is through the LDS Ancestral File. The contributor has not offered his sources to me. Neither Frank's death record or obit said anything about his parents. The Ohio Gen. Soc. had a biography of one of Frank's children. It also didn't tell me who Frank's parents were. How can I find a marriage or birth record for Frank or birth records for his children? I have found New York to be very difficult to research in.
