BENNS; ON,CAN; 1850- BENNS; ON, CAN; 1850 - Looking for anyone else interested in the BENNS families that lived near Toronto. George Benns was born about 1864, possibly near Todmorden, and married Margaret Donnelly. He gave his full name as George Henry Fox Benns on a daughter's death certificate, possibly establishing some connection to the family of Philip and Mary (Fox) Benns. I have not yet found a birth or marriage record. A transcript of his death certificate indicates his father was Joseph Benns.
