BOLTON, Julia; ON,CAN; 1873-1945 CROWDER, Julia; b. Sandwich, ON, CAN; 1873; d. London, ON, CAN: 1945 (married name). BOLTON, Julia; b. Sandwich, ON, CAN; 1873; d. London, ON, CAN; 1945 (maiden name). Looking for information on the marraige of Julia BOLTON to Robert Hedley CROWDER. The marriage took place in 1894 in the "Northwest" of Canada, according to the birth certificate of my father, Edward Reginald CROWDER. Unfortunately, in 1894 the term "Northwest" referred to a huge area of Canada, much larger than what we today refer to as the Northwest Territories. I am told there was no civil registration of marriages in the region at that time, as well. Mrs. Julia CROWDER, the former Julia BOLTON (no middle name), died on April 5, 1945, at her residence, 28 Elmwood Ave., London, Ontario, Canada, after a long illness. The information below is taken from the obituary published in a London, Ont., newspaper: She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles BOLTON and was a resident of London (Ontario) for more than 35 years. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Westminster. Her husband Robert H. CROWDER, London commercial traveller, predeceased her in 1914. Surviving are one son, Reginald, Toronto; three daughters, Emily and Grace, at home, and Mrs. Alice BUCHANAN, London; four brothers, William BOLTON, Windsor; James BOLTON, Philadelphia; Edmund BOLTON, Hamilton and Charles BOLTON, St. Thomas; four grandchildren, Carol, Robert and Billy BUCHANAN, and Dale CROWDER, all of London. Private funeral services will be held at the residence at 2:30 p.m. followed by a public service at St. James Anglican Church at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Canon T. G. Wallace and Rev. W. J. Eccleston will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. [End of first obituary text.] In the event that some additional details might generate some leads, I am also providing the 1914 obituary of Robert Hedley CROWDER: Mr. R. H. CROWDER, a well-known traveler, representing Greene, Swift & Co., died at his residence, 28 Elmwood Avenue (London, Ontario, Canada) about 7 o'clock last evening. The deceased had been ill only since Saturday and was not thought to be in serious condition. He was subject to inflammatory rheumatism and was believed to be recovering when his brain suddenly became affected and he died in a few minutes. The late Mr. CROWDER was formerly in business in Wingham, but had resided in London for a number of years. He was a native of Manchester, England. A widow and six children, three boys and three girls, survive. One sister and two brothers, residing in England, also survive. The deceased was a member of the Masonic Order, Oddfellows and the Woodmen of the World.
