ISLEY; ENG>NJ,USA; 1820-1840 This is my first posting to this list, so please be gentle with me! Seeking information regarding gg-grandparents, James and Elizabeth ISLEY. They were born in England and settled in Jersey City, NJ, where they both died in 1881-1882. They had at least two children, James, Jr and William H. (my g-grandfather) I'm sure that there were other children, I just haven't found them yet. I know absolutely nothing about Elizabeth. Family lore has it that there were seven brothers who came to this country and they all headed out in different directions. My g-grandfather William H. married Rose FAUTH and had one child that I know of, William John ISLEY. William John first married Mary Frances QUINN and produced Mabel ISLEY, William J. ISLEY, Jr. and Borden ISLEY. None of these children produced children of their own. William John then married Dorothea Anna HUSTEDT MEYER and had Harold William ISLEY in 1917.
