HORN / L'OBGERE; Strasbourg, DEU> CAN; c.1750 Surnames: HORN, L'OBGERE, LORGARINE, LOBGARINE Can anyone lookup in Strasbourg for information on Michel HORN and/or Barbe L'obgere Jean (Johann, John) b.1715, parents were Michel HORN and Barbe L'Obgarine (Lorgarine, L'obgere) of Strasbourg, then part of Germany. Jean and brother Jacob b. 1720 sailed on the ship GALE on the June 12, 1751 from Rotterdam and arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The passenger list indicated Jean (Johann) was a butcher from Darmstadt and Jacob was a farmer from Strasbourg. Jean married in 1757 Marie Marguerite Josephe SAVARY, in PEI and moved to St. Charles, Bellechasse, Quebec (near Quebec city on the other side of the Fleuve Saint-Laurent). Does anyone have any information on Jean and Josephe, and/or their descendants? Are there any HORN's living in the Strasbourg area? Children of Jean and Josephe: Joseph, b. 23 Mar 1758 Marie Joseph(Josephte)b. 20 Jun 1759 Jean, b. 8 Dec 1760 Marie Joseph, b. 18 Jul 1762 Joseph, b. 5 Feb. 1764 Marie Marguerite, b. 13 Jun 1764 Brother Jacob, my direct descendant, married Francoise Anastazia SAVARY, a sister to Josephte) in 1756 in Acadia (PEI) settled in Eastern Passage, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Jacob and Francoise had 15 children, 4 were born in St. Charles, bellechasse, the rest in Eastern Passage. Bill bill.horne@ec.gc.ca
