CAUDLE Stephen; ENG; 1600-1700 My 6x great grandfather Stephen CAUDLE was born about 1685. My strongest indications are that he was born in Gloucestershire, England, son of Stephen CAUDLE. The name has been spelled many ways, I'm not sure which is correct: CAUDLE/CAWDLE/COUDELL/CAUDILL/CORDLE/CORDIAL/etc. I have also had reports that he was born in Scotland. He immigrated to the Virginia Colony about 1720-1730. His wife was Mary Elizabeth FEILD, but I'm not sure where they were married. Can anyone give me any kind of information about Stephen and/or Mary? I would especially like to have a copy of birth or christening record to see how the name was spelled. I also have listed as immigrants to the Virginia Colony who may be a part of Stephen's family, and would like information on them as well. These are the dates they arrived in Virginia Colony: Phillip CAUDELL in about 1635; George COUDELL in June 1648; Anthony CAUDELL in December 1656; and John CAUDLE was in Charles City County, Virginia Colony as early as 1659.
