My 8th Great Grandparents were Roger Parke and Ann Patison from Cumberland Co., England and I'm wondering if anyone can help me with telling me who their ancestors were.... Dr. Roger Parke, Sr. - b. 1654 in Hexham, (Cumberland Co.)England d. 1731 in Hunterdon Co., NJ; m. Anne Patison b.1658 in Northumberland Co., England (sister, Mary, b.1660), daughter of John and Margaret Pattison of Allendaile on 10 April 1676 (Quaker Records)at Taylorbourne, Allendaile, Northumberland, England (possible second marriage); d. 1731 Hopewell Township, Hunterdon Co., NJ. Children of Roger Parke, Sr. and Ann Pattison: a. Roger Parke, Jr. (1684-1755) b. John Parke I. m. Sarah Smith (Yorkshire) - My 7th Great Grandparents c. Anne Parke (circa 1680-1754) m. William Merrill, Jr. Roger and Ann came to Hopewell, NJ in 1682. I have record of Roger and Ann all the way to myself with no breaks. I am very interested in knowing who their ancestors are in England. Roger was one of the first white men in west New Jersey and learned the herbal medicine trade from the American Indians who were already here on the mainland when Roger arrived.
